Brief

The brief was to design a museum to celebrate Bristol’s illustrious maritime history and showcase its historical role in international trade industry. I chose to design a maritime museum as I felt it would be fitting to Bristol’s legacy as a major UK port city.

The project includes a triple-height hall for permanent boat displays and temporary exhibitions, with a mezzanine floor as viewing platform. The ground floor would become an exciting public space, and contains all the communal and service functions.
